What are adjectives?

Adjectives are describing words.

Good, bad, young and old are all adjectives.

We can use adjectives to describe people:

  • a young girl
  • an old woman
She is very young.

She is young.

This woman is very old.

She is old.

We can use adjectives to describe places:

  • a big city
  • a beautiful country
New York is a big city.
