Elementary grammar exercise: plural forms of nouns

In this exercise you will practise forming the plural of nouns.

Some nouns in English do NOT have a plural form ending in ‘s’:

  • 1 man ➞ 2 men;
  • 1 sheep ➞ 2 sheep

Some nouns end in ‘es’ in the plural form:

  • 1 bus ➞ 2 buses;
  • 1 dictionary ➞ 2 dictionaries

Sometimes a noun ending in ‘y’ has a plural ending in ‘ies’:

  • 1 baby ➞ 2 babies;
  • 1 party ➞ 2 parties

Instructions: write the the plural form of each of the following nouns:
